Ethan's 1 yr old Birthday
Today is Ethan 1 yr old birthday (actual day). We had a mini celebration for him at home.......

Ethan's 1st Birthday Celebration
Today is a special day - Ethan very 1st birthday celebration! This morning as usual Ethan wake up at 6.30am and so do i. I look out of the window and saw that weather was fine, haze was not so bad, however still pray hard that it won't rain.
At about 9.30am, everybody are ready to go. After dressing up Ethan, we took a taxi and head toward the cafe - the happening place!
And finally the birthday cake! (Thanks to my brother who collected the cake for me)
The guests were impressed by the cake and we are also very satisfied, well done! Pine Garden.
Not forgetting BB's daughter piano performance - Thank you Jia Xuan for playing Birthday song & other nice nice tunes...
Of course the most important is the guests......here are some photos to share....
Last but not least, we wish to thank all the guests for taking time to attend Ethan's 1st Birthday, without them, the party will not be successful! And of course their presents & 'Ang bao' too.....

Upon reaching the cafe, the staff were busy preparing for Ethan's party. First they put up the banner which we specially purchase online....

Planning for Ethan's 1st Birthday
As Ethan's 1st birthday is coming soon, we are thinking of how to celebrate.
Our plan is actually to find a small and cosy place with nice food, of course :)
At first, we enquire from NTUC Happy Days, just next to our block, above McDonalds because that is the nearest location and very convenience for us. After enquiring, they are charging $32++ for min. 30 pax but we have to use their in-house catering, as we are unable to go for 'food tasting' and also not sure how nice is their catering food, we decided to look for other alternatives.
Next, we also enquire from Aranda Club @ Pasir Ris, charges will be $280 per nite, catering $13-$15 per pax, problem is we have to stay overnite which we don't really like.
And Link Hotel @ Tiong Bahru Road - $25-$40 per pax with min 30-35 pax, it will be in one of the function room with buffet served, somehow lack of something....seems too formal.
In the end, one of my friend BB suggested why not look for a cafe with indoor playground?? So with the wonder of internet, my hubby manage to found this cafe at Tanjong Katong Road ...called 'with a pinch of salt'. http://www.withapinchofsalt.com.sg/
We even went down to view the cafe and at the same time 'food tasting'. Although this cafe do not have a indoor playground, but we still decided to go for it. We likes the decor there, very suitable for kid's birthday. However, this cafe is so popular that the date and time that we wanted are all fully booked! Luckily the cafe manager is so helpful that he suggested to have brunch buffet from 10.30am to 12.30noon, as we like the place so much so we accepted his suggestion.
As for birthday cake, my intention is just to buy a cartoon character cake from any bakery shop but after browsing through internet i discovered there is this thing call "3D birthday cake" which come in different design and is something unusual. Next is to search for bakery shop, in the end decided on pine garden bakery in ang mo kio http://www.pgcake.com/ to make a 3D mickey mouse 2-tier cake.
Now we have found the venue, the birthday cake and finally we still need to source for something - the mickey mouse figures for 3D cake decoration. We found out that its not easy to buy disney figurines ....small figurines about 2 or 3 inch tall. We tried to buy them online but they don't shipped to Singapore. But luckily we manage to find some figurines of both mickey and minnie mouse.

Ethan's Chinese Birthday
Yesterday was Ethan's chinese birthday (九月初九), we didn't realised until I went back to my mother's house and she told us about it! So mother prepared some special items for Ethan to choose from. According to chinese tradition custom for 1yr old baby - whatever the baby picks up will sort of predict the child's future. For e.g. if the child up a food item it means he likes to eat !
On an empty table, the following items was display: coins, eggs, ang ku kueh,calculator, book and pen. Then we put Ethan on the table and see which item he will pick.
At first he almost reach out for a ang ku kueh...but he change his mind and pick up a pen follow by a book. So it means Ethan will be good in his studies !Well...we take it as a sort of fun game.
Haha....only time can tell what he will be good in.

Ethan's hair cut
Today we bring Ethan for hair cut because he haven't cut hair for 5 months and since his birthday is just around the corner, we want him to look neat and tidy :)
So far, this is his 4th hair cut, the last 3 times when he was 2 months, 5 months & 7 months old. That was the time when he still don't know anything but today he is 11months, he know what is happening, we expect him to be agitated and cry throughout the whole hair cut but to our surprise, he kept still when the stylist cut his hair (partly because there is a TV over there to entertain him) and he managed to finished the whole process. At the very last moment, he suddenly burst into tears and cry very loudly (think he must be holding on for too long hahaha....)
